Base Pay Range $55,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr About NEC NEC is an esteemed, diverse music school offering high-caliber training in classical, jazz, and contemporary music, along with interdisciplinary programs. It aims to provide lifelong music education to a broad community. Job Summary The Engineer handles audio/video recording, streaming, sound reinforcement for events, and supports daily operations. Reporting to the Director of Recording and Performance Technology Services, the role is primarily event-driven. Essential Functions Record/stream NEC events and recitals. Run recording sessions and operate sound reinforcement systems. Assist with technology design, installation, and maintenance. Mentor students and train student workers. Collaborate with various stakeholders to complete projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Understanding of recording/mixing/editing techniques and streaming protocols. Minimum 3 years experience in recording/mixing for performances. Dante level 2 certification. Experience with amplification of classical/traditional music. Proficiency with digital consoles, RF management, DSP systems, and network infrastructure. Experience with camera operation, NDI protocols, and familiarity with Vimeo and DaCast. Support experience with AV systems, projection, and Crestron systems. Proficiency with recording/editing software like Nuendo, Wavelab, vMix, etc. Ability to solder/repair cables, lift/move gear, troubleshoot systems. Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility.
