As a Armed Security Officer - Government Site - Full Time in San Jose, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Patrol Armed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help prevent potential issues, and responding promptly to any security-related concerns. This position requires you to be armed and to operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties, so a valid driver's license and the appropriate armed guard credentials are necessary. You will also interact with the public and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Monitor for and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and/or disruptions within the government facility.
• Interact professionally with employees, visitors, and/or the public while upholding site-specific policies and procedures.
• Assist with access control and verify credentials as required by the location's guidelines.
• Document incidents and complete required reports accurately and promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Must possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local laws and regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license in the state where the job is located and meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions only.
• Customer service experience is preferred. 
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
