Craftsmen Contractors is currently seeking a top notch Sheet Metal Foreman for the Gonzales, La. area. This is for a commercial project at a plant that should last at least 4 - 5 months or more. Needing someone who can help run a job. You will have to pass a hair follicle test and will need a current TWIC card.

Starting pay rate: $30 - $32/hr. depending on experience. These pay rates can definitely increase based on your job performance, attendance and long term commitment.

Per diem will be $50 - $60/day.

Job Duties:

• Supervise, assign and coordinate the work activities of crew.
• Plan and develop work schedules, equipment usage, priority of sheetmetal expenditures, and procedures for equipment maintenance.
• Estimate material and labor.
• Monitor the acquisition and use of materials.
• Fabricate, assemble, install, and hang sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings.
• Section cutting to assemble commercial rigid air conditioning duct work / systems, reading and interpreting blueprints of large chillers, specialized package units and also understanding electrical components such as lighting, panel boxes and building automation.
• Field fabricate, install and hang ducts and duct fittings, doing paperwork, adhering to company procedures, and following safety procedures.
• You will also help repair existing systems, test and examine systems for quality and make plans and material estimates for each project.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Sheet Metal Foreman: at least 3 - 5 years required.
• Familiarity with HVAC wiring diagrams
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Will need to have appropriate basic hand tools, all PPE and reliable transportation to get to the job site.
• Read blueprints.
• Work as a leader that can help train sheet metal workers to becoming productive workers.
• Run jobs.
• Pass a hair follicle test.
• Need a TWIC card.
