SUMMARY

The Staff / Senior Accountant (title dependent on experience) will play a key role in the monthly accounting cycle, and assisting the Manager and VP Controller with special projects, as necessary, with an emphasis on improving team processes and procedures and efficient operational reporting.

The Staff / Senior Accountant will be a key contributor to the accounting team by creating, analyzing, and reporting timely and accurate financial information for the cash and banking transactions as well as accounts receivable and accounts payable. This role builds impactful working relationships to support business partners and to ensure all financial transactions are timely recorded and supported.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform the daily operations of the accounting function, including GL, account reconciliations, A/R invoice preparation, process AP Invoices, AP reconciliations
  • Complete month-end close in a timely manner
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned accounts including:
    • Cash Journals – daily entries and monthly bank reconciliations
    • Sales Journals – Daily Entries
    • Freight Billing & Journals
    • Allocation Journals
    • Others as assigned
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce monthly close analytics – income statement and balance sheet analysis
  • Provide support for quarter end close and financial reporting and audits
  • Operate controls effectively for complete & accurate financial results in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Participate in any special projects, and work with other team members to assist in completion
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Experience in audit- or general accounting preferred (role will be Staff / Senior depending on experience)
  • Experience in retail / Franchising preferred
  • Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Skills in MS Excel; strong working knowledge of MS Office; Microsoft Dynamics a plus
  • Possesses focused attention to detail and solid organizational and prioritization skills while working quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & TRAVEL

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Evenings & weekend work may be required occasionally
  • Travel: Rarely (Less than 10%)
