Senior Manager – Security Operations, Epic Center

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Reports To: Director, Security Operations, North America

Direct Reports: Up to 5

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager – Security Operations for the Epic Center is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive security operations at Applied Materials’ Epic Center in Santa Clara, CA. This includes physical security, technical support and oversight, access control, emergency preparedness and response, and coordination with external public safety agencies. This role serves as the primary liaison between all business units operating within the Epic Center and plays a critical role in fostering a robust security culture across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the security operations, technical design, and execution of a comprehensive asset protection and physical security program, ensuring coverage across all areas including high-security and mission-critical spaces.
  • Manage daily security operations in alignment with business unit requirements and industry best practices, ensuring the integrity of state-of-the-art facilities.
  • Liaise with internal and external project managers, security integrators, technical service providers, facility personnel, and key business stakeholders on the build-out and ongoing support of all security infrastructure.
  • Oversee budget planning and financial management for security operations, maintaining fiscal discipline and accuracy in forecasting.
  • Support internal and external audits, maintain performance metrics and KPIs, and conduct benchmarking to ensure service excellence and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers to ensure professional, well-trained security personnel are deployed throughout the Epic Center.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and security stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and risk mitigation.
  • This role must be available and willing to respond to after-hour escalations and emergencies as needed.

Professional Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of security operations, procedures, and technical security systems.
  • Experience in safety, emergency management, and securing sensitive environments including laboratories, clean rooms, and confidential workspaces.
  • Skilled in strategic planning and global security program management.
  • Familiarity with SaaS-based incident management platforms, global messaging systems, and physical security technologies such as CCURE, Avigilon, or equivalent.
  • Experienced in budget development and financial oversight.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in corporate security management.
  • Demonstrated success in program development, strategic planning, and initiative management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead responses to critical incidents involving fire, medical emergencies, workplace violence, cybersecurity threats, HAZMAT, and natural disasters.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Master’s Degree in a related field is a plus.

Reporting & Collaboration:

  • Responsible for developing and managing operational metrics and strategic vendor relationships.
  • Regular reporting on key initiatives and strategic plans.
  • Collaborates with a matrix team including Information Systems, Real Estate & Facilities, Finance, Procurement, Legal, HR, Site Leadership, and Public Safety Agencies.
  • Supported by Director, Security Operations, North America and Managing Director, Global Security.

U.S. Salary Range:

$148,000.00 - $203,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
