Job Description

Matrix is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Health & Safety Consultant to lead combined EHS audits at client facilities throughout the United States and Canada for compliance with all EHS rules and regulations, including, for example: OSHA and EPA requirements, life critical standards, air emissions, water discharges, etc. This position will also support other projects related to EHS compliance for industrial clients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leading multi-disciplinary EHS audit teams including other internal auditors and EHS subject matter experts (SME)
• Support Industrial clients with all of their EHS compliance and permitting needs
• Independently performing EHS compliance and management systems audits;
• Contributing to audits as an Environmental, health, & safety subject matter expert; and
• Preparing and communicating compliance findings and recommendations verbally and in writing to all levels of management.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Sciences or related EHS fields.
• At least 3-5 years industrial experience
• At least 5 years auditing or closely related work experience
• Health & Safety Subject Matter Expert must have specialized knowledge and experience with US OSHA, US EPA. and state EH&S regulations (plus Canada is an asset)
• Specialized knowledge and experience with third party audit practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Systems, results, and continuous improvement-oriented approach
• Skilled at objective, logical analysis and forming clear and convincing conclusions regarding EHS compliance for large, complex industrial processes.
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Approximately 40-70% travel
• Physical capability and endurance to climb ladders and walk extensive staircases.
