Job Title: Senior Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designer (100% REMOTE)

Job :

Acara Solutions, in collaboration with our defense client, is currently seeking a Senior Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designer for a remote contract-to-direct hire position.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop CCAs (Circuit Card Assemblies) for high-reliability undersea communication systems.
• Manage ECAD libraries and adhere to library management practices.
• Utilize Mentor Graphics Xpedition for PCB layout design.
• Create and maintain library components using Xpedition parts request system.
• Develop footprints using Footprint Expert Enterprise 23.
• Generate 3D models using Solidworks, NX, or CREO for PCB components.
• Perform circuit design and participate in hands-on prototyping activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Associate Degree.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with library management practices.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with ECAD/PCB layout design processes.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with library management practices, including Xpedition parts request system, Footprint Expert Enterprise 23, 3D model creation using Solidworks NX or CREO, and Hyperlynx.
• Minimum of 5 years of Circuit design and hands-on prototyping experience.
• Minimum of 2 years experience using Mentor Graphics Xpedition.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Experience with schematic capture in Xpedition is valuable.
• Knowledge of one or more PCB design tools from the Mentor Graphics suite (xDM, Xpedition. DXdatabook, BoardStation, Hyperlynx).
• Basic knowledge of IPC and manufacturing standards.
• In-depth knowledge of CCA fabrication techniques.
• Ability to communicate with suppliers when asked to clarify design documentation packages.
• Documentation capture, including (bill of material parts lists, ODB++ digital fabrication packages, and 3D model generation).
