Piping Designer II

Beaumont, TX

NOTE: Ideal Candidate would have between 3-8 years of experience.

Summary:

Performs routine to difficult design assignments, which require knowledge and skill in basic drafting techniques, procedures, knowledge of applicable industry standards, and design standards. Supervises other design personnel. Assignments are designed to further develop the incumbent’s job knowledge and abilities.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

Minimum of 5 years of design experience with industry (Chemical/Petro/Refining).

Min of 3 years of experience using AutoCAD for designs in a plant setting.

Knowledge with MS Office.

Solid knowledge of drawings and red line for As-Buildings.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Independently develops CADD drawings from scratch utilizing design sketches or catalog information.

Using CAD software to convert field sketched and red-lined mark-ups into final “As-Built CAD drawings” for final approvals.

Field check and verify any discrepancies identified on sketches and drawings.

Performs related fundamental engineering support tasks such as updating computer lists, filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, proofreading reports, compiling Bills of Material, etc.

Work with vendors to review the installation requirements for the different pieces of equipment.
