Job Summary

IMI is seeking a full-time Pipe Welder local to the Seneca, SC area. 

Essential Functions

• Accurately apply intermediate mathematical skill including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, conversion of fractions and decimals, and geometry.
• May be required to use Gas-Metal Arc (GMAW), Flux-Cored Arc (FCAW), Gas-Tungsten Arc (GTAW), Submerged Arc (SAW), or Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW/MMA) welding processes.
• May weld in 1G to 6G positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, inclined, or overhead.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• This job will report to the same jobsite daily.  Work will be in a chemical plant environment.  Work schedule will be Monday - Thursday, 10 hours/day (7:00am - 5:30pm)

Education and Experience

• 2+ years welding in the industrial trade
• Must be able to pass a 6G Stainless and Carbon TIG test.
• Must be able to communicate well with management.
• Must be familiar with Scissor lifts and boom lifts.
• NCCER or AWS certification or completion of a related program through an accredited technical school.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time.
• Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.

• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors including times of inclement weather.
• Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
• Must be highly safety conscious and have ability to see and escape from dangerous situations
• Ability to climb a ladder and step into various pieces of equipment.
