Job Description

Primary Goal is an award-winning independent training provider offering bespoke digital, cyber, and ICT apprenticeship and non-apprenticeship training programmes in the education and business support sectors. Our mission is to train and support staff to confidently embed and utilise technology in the classroom and business, providing increased access to new and emerging technologies, and fostering diversity in tech careers. As we expand our offering, we are looking for a Managing Director and Director of Ed-Tech to join our community of like-minded individuals dedicated to digital transformation and making a positive impact through technology. The Managing Director and Director of Ed-Tech will be responsible for driving innovation and managing change within the organisation. This role will focus on initiating and recognising innovative ideas, developing strategic initiatives, leading digital transformation projects as well as ensuring adherence to Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework, DfE Policies and ESFA funding regulations. The role will require coaching staff and senior leadership teams (SLT) to become innovators and inspirational leaders in their departments, and supporting delivery, sales, and business development efforts. This individual will play a critical role in shaping the future of our training programmes, ensuring they are forward-thinking, relevant, and impactful to all educational establishments and businesses. Key Responsibilities Innovation Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive innovation strategy aligned with Primary Goal’s mission and vision. Foster a culture of innovation within the organisation, encouraging creative thinking and problem-solving. Identifyemerging technologies and trends that can enhance our training programmes and business operations. Digital Transformation Lead development and execution of digital transformation initiatives to improve marketing, business development, quality, and compliance. Collaborate with Ed-Tech industry specialists to integrate cutting-edge technologies into our training programmes. Ensure all digital learning platforms and resourcesare continually evolving to meet the needs of learners and employers. Change Management Manage the process of change within the organisation, ensuring smooth implementation of new technologies and practices. Develop and execute change management plans that address the needs of all stakeholders. Monitor and measure the impact of innovation and change initiatives. Strategic Partnerships Build and maintain partnerships with technology providers, educational institutions, and industry organisations such as Google, Microsoft, and other EdTech companies to ensure Primary Goal is at the forefront of new and emerging technologies. Leverage these partnerships to enhance our training offerings and stay ahead of industry trends. Represent Primary Goal at industry events and forums to promote our innovative approach and establish thought leadership. Team Leadership and Management Provide operational leadership to ensure teams are empowered and motivated to achieve, with a focus on high standards and continuous improvement. Lead and mentor a team of Senior Leaders by providing support and guidance to drive organisational results including performance management. Promote professional development and continuous learning within the team Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture. Support Senior Leaders in developing and implementing departmental strategic plans that incorporate digital and emerging technologies to drive business growth and innovation. Quality, Ofsted and ESFA Compliance Work closely with the teaching and learning team to incorporate innovative methodologies and technologies. Ensure programmes are designed to support diverse learners and narrow the digital divide. Oversee the development of new training programmes and the enhancement of existing ones, ensuring they are relevant and high-quality. Ensure all training programmes and practices adhere to Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework and comply with ESFA funding rules. Keep abreast of changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance. Prepare for and support the quality and delivery team to manage inspections, audits, and reviews by regulatory bodies. We are keen to hear from applicants with the following qualifications and experience : Proven experience in a senior innovation or technology role, ideally within the education or training sector. Experience of running a business, including understanding of costs centres and financial metrics. Strong understanding of digital technologies and their application in education and business. Demonstrated experience in leading digital transformation and change management initiative. Knowledge of Ofsted expectations and ESFA funding and compliance requirements. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication skills. Experience in coaching and mentoring staff and Senior Leaders to embrace technology. Proven track record in organisational growth through innovation and change.
