Manager, Communications

Location: Nashville, TN, Hybrid

Schedule: M-F, 9am-6pm, Occasional nights/weekends

Job Summary:

The BMLG Manager, Communications is responsible for overseeing the communication strategy, public relations, and media interactions for designated artists. This position plays a crucial role in building and maintaining a positive public image, managing media relations, and promoting the label’s artists and brand.

Essential Job Functions:

• Serve as the day-to-day contact for artists’ publicity, responsible for a wide array of internal and external communications.
• Prepare and maintain a variety of written materials, not limited to press releases, media alerts, biographies, ad copy, pitches and talking points.
• Use creative thinking to develop and execute short and long-term publicity campaigns and strategies for the artists and label, across broadcast, online, print, social media and more.
• Develop narratives tailored to a specific initiative and identifying opportunities where it can be infused into messaging.
• Secure and coordinate artist media appearances and interviews, publicity travel, press events and photo shoots—problem solving in real time.
• Build and maintain relationships with media contacts in addition to people from all facets of the industry. 
• Track, share and catalog press coverage and results.
• Work closely as a team with the Communications department and beyond to meet company and department objectives.
• Represent the label and artists at events, meetings and other industry engagements.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of publicity experience at a firm, studio, label or media organization.
• Strong domestic press relationships including NY, Los Angeles and Nashville.
• Must have a deep passion for Country music, pop culture and media as a whole.
• Common knowledge and understanding of music charts and music business.
• Ability to travel and work outside of normal business hours as needed.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, and/or related field preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

0-10%
