About the Role & Program

Do you ever wonder what it’s like to be a designer for a busy network television marketing team? We’re looking for a Motion Design intern to join The StudioFX team, which is part of our larger FX Marketing team. We collaborate with the Content and Editorial team to create marketing spots for every FX produced show. We are storytellers, artists, designers, editors, animators, 3D artists, and production artists. We are led by our Senior Vice President, Steve Viola. If selected for the role, you will report directly to Vice President, Motion Design.

What You Will Do

We are seeking a Motion Design intern who will be an outstanding addition to our team. You will kick off your day by attending our department check in meetings to share insights into projects, artist availabilities, cool and innovative spots, and social events. You will later work on smaller projects and collaborate with your project group, which is normally comprised of a Vice President, Producer, Creative Director, Art Director, Senior Designer, and a designer and/or an animator. The team later disbands into our project groups to discuss research, pull references, concepts and design.

As a Motion Design intern, you might expect to do some of the following:

  • Design logos and styleframes, research and conceptualize ideas

  • 2D and/or 3D animation

  • Assisting our Production team in generating multiple versioning for all marketing spots

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Design, conceptual problem solver, and off the box thinker

  • Hard-working, self-motivated and detail oriented

  • Energized

  • Experience with Adobe apps (Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects)

  • Good Communication Skills

  • Positive team-player

  • Skilled multi-tasker

Preferred Qualifications

  • A background using Cinema 4D, Maya, or Resolve are a plus

  • Prior internship experience or classes in Graphic Design, Motion Design, Visual Effects, Post-production and the like, a plus

Education

  • Senior or recent graduates within 6 months working towards their Bachelors of Arts or Masters of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, 3D, illustrator, Typography, or Fine Art

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program

Additional Information

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through December 2024

  • Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week

  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Los Angeles, California area

  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
