GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

To demonstrate a caring and understanding relationship with parents and students; to have a positive working relationship with the principal and staff; to assist in assuring the smooth and efficient operation of the high school attendance office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepares and maintains student registers; ADM records, report cards; transcripts; student demographic information; school calendars; course schedules; Prepares membership/absence reports for submission to the ADE; Scans and records student grades; maintains certificates of residence from feeder districts, as well as course requests and grades; Responsible for computer upgrades in attendance office; Communicates with parents/guardians regarding students' absences; Completes year-end status reports for district office data collection; Directs the activities of student aides, as needed; Files as needed; Performs other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent; One year of experience with computer data entry or closely related tasks; Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications; Ability to communicate and work well with people. B. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS None specified C. COMMITMENT & DEPENDABILITY Willingness to perform as an integral member of a successful team; Dedication to providing the highest level of service; Adherence to policies and procedures.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

TIME MANAGEMENT: Must plan two to twelve weeks in advance; STRESS MANAGEMENT: Periodic stress due to intermittent deadlines; PUBLIC CONTACT: Interact primarily with students, employees and the general public; LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY: Must use sound judgment in performing the job; has responsibility for some equipment, tools and access to confidential records; EVALUATION PROCEDURE : In accordance with provisions specified in Governing Board policy.
