About the Role & Team

Disney Entertainment includes the company’s full portfolio of entertainment media and content businesses globally, including motion picture film studios, television divisions, and streaming!

The ABC research and analytics team collaborates with cross functional teams to monitor network and content performance. Interested in learning basic media analytic skills, as you work behind the scenes supporting the research and analytics team for ABC? If selected for this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Research & Analytics.

What You Will Do

You will learn Nielsen software to query viewership information for content across broadcast, cable, and streaming in order to tell a comprehensive story on program performance. Through this work, you will develop a strong foundation in understanding the current viewership landscape as well as how to communicate data at a major entertainment company.

  • Using Nielsen software to query data for networks, programs, and telecasts
  • Assisting in managing data for our content and competitive across broadcast, cable, and streaming
  • Contributing written analyses based on linear and streaming program performance
  • Assisting members of the department as needed

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to be flexible, eager to learn new software and data organization processes
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interest in television content and the media landscape

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Alteryx, Tableau, and/or SQL
  • Comfortable working with numbers including written data analysis
  • Recent graduate
  • Previous internship experience in the entertainment industry

Education

Undergraduate students in their junior or senior year (or recently graduated within the past six months) pursuing a bachelor's degree in an analytical field, research or related field.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program

Additional Information

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through August 2024
  • Able to be fully available for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
