Position Title: 2nd shift sewing Operator
Hands on Sewing Machine operating position expected to provide assistance to the success of the team as well as acting as a technical troubleshooter. The primary responsibilities of the Sewing Machine Operator include providing technical hands on leadership to the departmental staff. As a Sewing Machine Operator, this position is responsible for conveying a professional attitude towards other employees while recognizing the responsibility to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
You’ll guarantee that production remains a smooth and efficient process by contributing to productivity in an effective and efficient manner.
In a fast paced environment like production, this position is an integral part of the manufacturing process. They must be competent and comprehend complex operations. You should also be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs. The goal is to ensure that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to sew basic single stitch items accurately and efficiently
Ability to do basic maintenance (thread, bobbins) on single stitch machine accurately
Demonstrate ability to pass or fail items in SAP accurately
Understands procedure for moving completed items to packing
Understands who to go to for projects when they run out of work
Helps to implement changes and improvement ideas that they are asked
Ability to stay productive
Ability to read work orders and recognize hot dates
Ability to prioritize their work based on hot items
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college or transferable experience and college coursework is preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
The ability to understand and adjust resources to meet the highs and lows of the shift demands.
SAP experience is a plus
